It’s super easy to do a transparent background on Instagram Story.
You can choose any color for your transparent background. I will share 3 extra tricks too.

How to do a transparent background on Instagram Story?
To do a transparent background on Instagram Story, do this:
Open your Instagram Story screen:
Take a photo or video (or upload one from your camera roll).
You need it as a background to put a transparent color on top of it.
Tap on the three dots “…” button, then the “Draw” options:
Choose the third pen option on top (it’s the one that will be transparent):
Choose a color for your transparent background.
There are 3 ways to choose a color.
1. Choose a color from the basic color selection at the bottom of your screen:
2. Want more color options?
Hold your finger pressed on a color, and the whole rainbow color palette will appear.
Drag your finger on any color you want. Once you’ve found the color you like, release your finger from the color.
3. Use your own brand color.
Have your own brand color you want to use? But it’s hard to get it from the rainbow color palette?
No problem. Do this:
- Add an image of your color on top of your Story screen, using the “Camera Roll” sticker
- Tap on the “Eye Dropper” tool next to the color selection at the bottom of your screen
- Place it on top of the color you want
- Delete your image by dragging it at the bottom of your screen
