There are 3 ways you can synchronize Instagram Reels audio with your clips.
Let’s get straight into it.
Way #1. Use a Reels Template
“Reels Template” is an Instagram feature. The timing is already done for you.
- Press on “Use template”
- Select your clips to fill the placeholders
Can’t see “Use template”?
Not all videos will have a template. So it’s normal if you can’t see the “Use Template” button under all Reels videos.

Way #2. Use the “Auto-synchronize” feature
Instagram has a feature to automatically synchronize audio and clips.
Here is how to do it:
Way #3. Time the clips yourself
You can manually synchronize your clips to any audio.
Instagram allows you to trim the length of your photo or video.
This way you can make it appear and disappear exactly when you want.
This is perfect to synchronize the clips with the audio.
Here is how to do it:
- Upload your photos or videos in your Reels editor
- Press “Next”
- Press “Edit Clips”
- Tap on a clip
- Trim the clip to fit the audio (you can listen to the song at the same time you are trimming to perfectly match the audio)
You can see how long your clip is here:
How long should your clip be?
Listen to the song and stop a clip when the beat changes. Otherwise, most people trim each clip between 1 to 2 seconds. This is a good length to catch people’s attention, and make them re-watch your Reels. #moreviews
