Note: This article will be updated as new information surfaces.
Let me start by saying that the Instagram shadowban can happen to anyone. It makes our accounts invisible to everyone, except your current followers.
The length of an Instagram shadowban varies. It could be anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks (and some people months).
Based on our research and what people have reported all over the Internet, this article summarizes what helps remove the Instagram shadowban within a couple of days.
If you’re new to our blog, make sure you also read this blog post:
How to Avoid Instagram Shadowban: 4 Crucial Tricks
If Instagram has deleted your photos or your account, read this:
“Instagram deleted my photos”, “My Account Disappeared”: What’s happening?
Check if your account is shadowbanned
First, are you sure you have been banned?
There is only one true test you can do. And you need to do it yourself, manually.
Take the test: How to Check if your Account Has Been Shadowbanned by Instagram
Note: Do not use any external tools to test if you have been shadowbanned.
They are not 100% reliable.
We have analyzed them from a technological perspective. We have done the test ourselves and built our own Instagram shadowban tester to compare the results. We can confidently tell you that the results of these external tools are not reliable. They are a well-timed marketing stunt.
If you have seen a dramatic drop in likes – all of a sudden – there is a high chance your account has been affected.
Then again, do the test yourself (click here).
How to remove Instagram shadowban?
Here are 7 tricks to remove the Instagram shadowban and be unbanned.
1. Backoff from posting for a couple of days
Go cold turkey. Lay low and hope the ban gets lifted. Some people have stopped using Instagram for over 3 days (or more). Their ban was lifted after that. It almost seems like a “reset button” for your account.
2. Delete all hashtags from your recent posts
Instagram stated that there seems to be a “hashtag glitch”. It could be true, but we are not so sure about it.
Like I said in my previous article, some hashtags are being blocked or banned by Instagram. Some hashtags are simply inappropriate, and others are innocent but have been spammed with inappropriate photos. They have subsequently been blocked by Instagram (temporarily or indefinitely).
Remove hashtags from your recent posts. This trick worked well for a lot of people and it seems to be the fastest way to remove the Instagram shadowban.
People have also reported that not using the same hashtags over and over again helps. It signals to Instagram you are an active user and not a bot.
3. Put your hashtags in the caption (not in the comments)
This trick seems to have worked for a lot of people too. If you test it, let everyone know in the comments if it made a difference for you.
People reported that when they put their hashtags in the comments, their post was shadowbanned after 1 – 2 hours.
Putting hashtags in the caption can make it bulky. To keep your caption clean, use 5 (or more) full stops, bullet points or any other means to separate your caption from your hashtags. For example:
This is a beautiful day ????????
.
.
.
.
.
#beautiful #day #sun #outdoors #earthpix #nature
4. Don’t use too many hashtags
I’ve always said it: each hashtag is an opportunity to get in front of the eyeballs of the right people. I consider hashtags as free advertising. So I am a firm believer in using all 30 hashtags Instagram allows us to use in one post.
However some people have reported that the ban was lifted after following this pattern:
- Remove hashtags from old posts,
- Put hashtags in caption for a new post, and
- Use less than 30 hashtags
5. Contact Instagram
Getting in touch with Instagram is hard. But it doesn’t hurt to try. Some people got unbanned reporting the problem.
Here is how to contact Instagram (4 ways):
- Open the Instagram app and shake your phone: This will activate the “Instagram Rage Shake” (a big thank you to Kat Gaskin for the tip). Warning: not all phones have this feature.
- “Report a Problem” to Instagram through the app: This is the simplest and most recommended way to contact Instagram. A few people have been very lucky and unbanned after they reported the issue (… after contacting Instagram every day until it was fixed):
- Go in the Instagram Settings
- Select “Report a Problem”
- Select “Something isn’t working”.
- Go on Facebook and search for Instagram (App page) and select “Send a Message”.
- Send an email at [email protected].
And tell them:
“I am not being shown in the hashtags I’ve used for my post”.
Do not say you have been “shadowbanned”.
Some people (not a whole lot) got a response fairly quickly from Instagram.
Other people tell Instagram they have been “hacked“. If you do your research all over the Internet, this trick seems to have been very efficient to remove the Instagram shadowban. However, David does not recommend you use the “hacking” card as your message will be forwarded to a completely different support department that won’t be able to help.
Our advice: Do anything in your power to remove the shadowban.
6. Do not switch to a business profile
Now, this is a big topic in itself. There are many diverging views on this topic among the Instagram community. I will give you our thoughts on it.
When you switch to a business profile you signal to Instagram that you are a business. Businesses are the bread and butter of Instagram (and its parent company, Facebook). Remember when Facebook made pages’ organic search nonexistent in 2007?
Déjà vu?
It is only natural that Instagram will want you to pay to get more engagement (likes, views, clicks). Why would you get all the perks of a business account (Instagram analytics & all) for free? Think about it.
In fact, we have heard that many people have experienced a loss of engagement after switching to a business profile (read the comments section in Alex Tooby’s article). Of course it doesn’t apply to everyone. It is still possible to rock your business page but it might take more time to gain traction.
7. Switch back to a personal profile, but…
Make sure you also unlink your Instagram profile from your Facebook page. The two go hand-in-hand. We cannot assure this trick will help, but it is a logical step to take since Facebook pages = source of advertising revenue of Facebook (and Instagram).
To sum up
These are the 7 best ways to remove Instagram shadowban at the moment:
- Backoff from posting for a couple of days
- Delete all hashtags from recent posts
- Put your hashtags in your caption (not in the comments)
- Don’t use all 30 hashtags
- Contact Instagram
- Do not switch to a business profile
- Switch back to a personal profile

I have a shadowban since 1 Month! I have no idea what I have done wrong. I tryed this steps. Still banned 🙁 and my second account also today (270 Followers)
Hi Raphaela! What type of hashtags do you use? Can you try to check if some of the hashtags are blocked by Instagram? Read this: https://thepreviewapp.com/check-hashtag-banned-instagram/ .
My whole Account has a shadowban – it isnt a hashtag; dosent matter what hahstag I use .. and I am using no broken hashtags or something! ZB hashtag “vienna” is also Not working
Hey Alexandra, I have successfully lifted my shadowban on Instagram and also switched back from a business profile to a personal one, following your advice. I have just released a blog post on the exact steps I took and linked to your super helpful article here https://www.kristinbrause.com/blog/got-rid-instagram-shadowban
Hi Kristin! That is fantastic news! Thanks for sharing with everyone here too. That is very helpful.
Thanks so much for this article! I’ve just been shadowbanned in the last 2 days. I’ve tried emailing with the address you listed above but they responded saying they no longer service that address. I wonder if you know of another email I could write to?
Hi Emmie! Instagram prefers if we contact them via the Instagram app (“report an issue”) or via their Facebook page. Have you tried these ways? Also, delete all the hashtags from your latest posts now, sometimes the ban gets lifted straight away. One more tip: Have you checked if some of the hashtags you used might be blocked? Check this: https://thepreviewapp.com/check-hashtag-banned-instagram/ — I recommend to use more low density hashtags too (they seem to be more reliable because they are less competitive & overused): https://thepreviewapp.com/instagram-hashtags-density-need-know/ .
It seems i have been shadow banned since the 13th of May, i juts realized it yesterday when i noticed zero engagement on a post that would have otherwise received some attention. I contacted Ig from the login page, they asked for the infamous ig mugshot..sent it..they replied saying this request cant be handled via this channel. Not sure what to do. I have ankther issue too. I tried to create another account but the ipad app just wont let me add another account. Its shows an error message or says i am blocked from adding new account. Any idea whats been going on? Thanks.
I wrote down a few hashtags i use on every post and copy paste them everyday on my posts but i dont most more than one or two posts a day..n i had a couple days gap between each post since the 13th and yet my ban hasnt been lifted yet.
All my posts are related to yoga or hiking..so no sensitive tags.
I have been shadow banned, and I tried all the tips, I’ve been not posting for weeks, but It didn’t work, I changed my password, and posted a new pic, and the shadowban is gone! thank you so much for helping!❤
That’s awesome! Thanks for telling us your account is all back to normal. See you on Insta 🙂
Thank you so much to this page.. It really works guyss! My account has shadow banned from almost 1 month and i was just quite nd can’t do anything then i saw this page and used this tricks and i can’t believe that these tricks really works! Guys seriously but there are some tricks that u don’t have to use like in this page they have mentioned that “do not post anything or do not use instagram for few days” guys its not works u have to use ur insta daily! And be active user. What u have to do is “remove all hastags from ur recent post” another helpful trick is “swich ur account to personal id please do not switch to business account ” these 2 tricks are really works i have experienced. Try these trick you’ll surely get back your id. Incase it’s doesn’t work then report ur problem to instagram from setting this will really work! Thank you❤
you probably signed in on an unauthorized app
that did not work for me
I have been shadowbaned for 3-4 days, and i did this: delete hashtags under my 15 photos, activate my followers bby putting in my insta story question and they answered my in DM, over 30 ppl wrote, and 5 my friends shared my feed in their insta storis and recomended me to their followers. In one day, I gained over 50 new ppl, and lost cca 20. And I wrote to Instagram 2 messages. Today my pics are visible with my own hashtag to ppl who do not follow me 🙂 If I can help anybody pls write me DM on my insta yowanna_delfin.unique
Thank you for your advices :*
Thank you for sharing with everyone!
Thank you for the information I’ll try doing all of this and get back to you’ll. I did remove all my hashtags on my comment sections. Do I have to remove the ones on my caption also?
Just remove them all. Probably a good idea
Thank you! I shall try that as well.
Hi, do I need to remove all my hashtags on every post or just the most recent ones? How far back should I go?
hey ! i’ve been probably shadow banned for a week now i did everything you have told me and nothing is working ! i tried deactivating my account for a while and not using it will that work ?!!
Hello! I’m not sure if that will work, but you can try. Unfortunately it’s the second time this year that Instagram is having this issue. A lot of our Preview app users said that they kept posting (even if their account was shadowbanned). They were careful with their hashtags. And it took time until their account was back to normal. Keep engaging with your followers and those who follow you. That will show to the algorithm that you are an active user (and not a spam coming and going from the platform).
ok then ! but if i post can i use hashtags or without? (i don’t use any banned hashtags i checked )
That’s good that you checked! Continue to post with hashtags. Just use a few only for now. Try to use hashtags that have less than 1 million posts or even less than 500,000 posts.
I have not login for two days and removed all hashtags but still now shadowban isn’t gone. What can I do?
Some of our users said that they kept posting consistently despite their shadowban. Keep posting, make sure you are using good hashtags (check our blogs for how to pick good hashtags for your account) and avoid using the same hashtag groups.

I hope your shadowban gets lifted soon!
Hi! When you say to remove hashtags from your “recent” posts, how recently do you mean? I just found out today about shadowbanning (I am shadowbanned) and I was a person who put hashtags in the comments. I have gone about 3 months back and deleted hashtags from comments. How much further should I go? The whole account? Or just past month or so
Hello! Deleting hashtags from the past couple of weeks is definitely enough. This is the second wave of “shadowbanning” Instagram has done this year. There are changing things in the background. Make sure you are using good hashtags and that you don’t use the same hashtag groups on every single post. I hope that will help!
I’ve been shadowbanned since morning of September 2nd, AFTER the app suddenly forced me to verify my phone number. I don’t have my number in Facebook and had never had it in Insta before, so it seemed like an odd way to prove much, but I did it because it was impossible to use app without doing so. Immediately shadowbanned afterwards–which seems backwards, I just proved I’m not a bot!
I’ve never put my hashtags in comments. I went back and deleted hashtags starting from August 13th, and deleted the only known broken tag I’ve used a few times (#streetphoto) starting from May 1st (I use it sporadically enough that I realllly don’t want to have to check further back than that!). I also sent message to Instagram through FB (email got a auto-respond that they don’t use that) and through the app.
Hadn’t planned to post something new until tomorrow morning. Last post was on Sunday (every single like was by someone I know, very rare), but just did the hashtag deletion today. Fingers crossed, but not feeling great about it.
I am having exactly the same problem as this, It started the morning of the 2nd. Although I didn’t switch to the mobile verification until yesterday. I don’t know if you’ve seen on twitter but check the instagram page out and read the comments. thousands upon thousands of people saying their account has been deactivated.. and a LOT of people have been shadowband. I was also using a broken hashtag without realising… i’m just hoping it lifts soon! I’ve done all that is recommended above also
Hello Melissa! Yes we’ve seen what happened over the weekend. We’ve written about it in our new blog post. You can find it here: https://thepreviewapp.com/instagram-deleted-photos-account-disappeared-whats-happening/ . It’s so scary! Instagram has been doing a LOT of changes this year… and it has come to a very painful cost for many of us. Let me know if you get your account back to normal. I hope it’s going to be a quick phase.
Hi Alexandra! Oh I will definitely have a read of that right now!! I know there has been so many changes, making it so very hard to build an online business! I really
Hope I do too but feel so much for the people that have had ether accounts deleted! Am off now to read your new blog xx
I’ve been shadowbanned from September 2nd too… That’s really strange that it all happened to us on that date? I feel like I had to confirm my mobile number too, then it happened from there. Anyways, I’ve done the above steps and now just need to play the waiting game 🙁 So heartbreaking for a small business like mine… It’s even more frustrating that we don’t even know why!
Same thing happened to me on the same day after the phone # prompt! I hope they figure out how to lift this for us soon! It is so frustrating that there’s nothing we can do.
Hi Melissa, I just checked it out! Looks like Instagram never replies on Twitter, though. Not that FB is better, unless the parent company forces them to reply somehow? I’d also seen comments about it on Reddit (for the exact same thing, shadowbanned after verifying) but of course those comments aren’t seen by Instagram.
Hello Nancy! That’s just weird. Thanks for sharing with everyone how it happened to you. We’re trying to figure out what could trigger these things. Have you ever used any apps or websites that were not approved by Instagram? Even if it was a long time ago. Some sort of app that automatically liked, commented or follow/unfollow for you?
I’ve been using the Followers app for at least a year, I think. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t do anything automatically, it’s basically just a list of people who unfollow, mutually follow, don’t follow back, new followers. No actions seem to happen unless I manually do them. I’m also not quick to follow people anyway, and don’t necessarily unfollow when others unfollow me, I just use the app to satisfy curiosity. Basically, I think my behavior is totally normal!
Right around the same time I re-verified (I can’t remember which came first, but within hours), I got a notification promoting the “pro” version. I downloaded thinking that with the promotion, some payment-required features would be free, but they weren’t so I deleted.
The Followers app is created by Social Guide, it’s the only authorized app I can see through a desktop browser of my Insta account. I am not sure if Social Guide makes other apps that do bot-like things, and if these things are lumped together. It doesn’t seem like downloading that “pro” version of Followers created a separate authorization. I did wonder if there was anything flag-worthy about trying to use two versions of the same app at the same time, but since this happened at the same time as the phone verification and a lot of people are saying that caused their shadowban as well, it might just be a coincidence.
I haven’t revoked API permissions yet because I don’t know if that removes my records of people who unfollowed/newly followed. Do you know how that works?
That’s exactly what happened to me! I use the Followers app and shortly after providing my phone number to re-verify, I received a notice from Followers to try their Followers+ app. So I downloaded it and logged in. I couldn’t see what the differences were, so I went back to Followers. An email to Social Guide has gone unanswered. I decided to delete Followers+ soon afterwards.
I was shadow banned once already in July, and coincidentally I had tried Followers+ briefly back then too, before discarding it and changing my password.
I’ve been told by other Instagrammer that Followers is a very well known and trustworthy app. But I’m kind of suspicious of their Followers+ version. Perhaps it does something to upset Instagram. Pure coincidence?Who knows.
I mean, I’m kind of suspicious because I feel like there must have been some wording that made me (and you) think that this promotion for Followers+ was unlocking features that you normally have to pay for. Even though I deleted it, I don’t think that really erases any info, since I’ve deleted & re-installed other apps several times and it seems like my profile is usually saved. So I don’t know if I should be revoking Followers API or not.
I would prefer not to lose the history saved in the Followers app (and have no idea if revoking access erases history or not), but in a few hours it will be 2 full weeks of shadowban. This includes about 80 hours completely logged off, and more than a week between my post today and the previous one. (plus reports and tweets)
I’m a bit suspicious of Followers+ as well. The stupidest thing is that Instagram does not even acknowledge this problem on their FAQ or Troubleshooting pages!
Good news: I was finally unbanned late last week. It lasted 2 weeks exactly. Don’t know if it was anything I did or if IG finally got their act together. I uninstalled Followers+, changed my password, and reverted back to a personal account.
I didn’t uninstall anything, although I logged off for more than 3 days. It was exactly 2 weeks for the ban as well, and it wasn’t lifted after I had done that 3-day break, it was just exactly 2 weeks of waiting, I guess. So stupid.
Unfortunately, while I’m happy to be visible again (and that you are, too!), two full weeks of being hidden has had an effect :(. If we were still on the much-better chronological order it would be fine, but I can tell that people aren’t really viewing me anymore. My account is still pretty small, so previously 200 likes per photo was my expected minimum, usually working to get it up to 300. Now I’m struggling to get much more than 100 per photo, with exact same style/content as before. Ugh, Instagram.
So you did not use your account for 3 days or two weeks ?
just Changed password and back to personal sounds simple
I have the same issue. However I was using an app that would tell me who was following or unfollowing me because i was sick of keeping track of followers who were merely following for a follow back and would unfollow instantly when I followed them. So i was only using that but i had not allowed it to do anything on its own. When i realized it could be the reason for this apparent ‘shadow ban’ i immediately deleted it and revoked its access on insta too. I’ve deleted all my hashtags and changed my password too. Switched back to personal account and not posted anything since over a week! I am also not able to use hashtags since 2nd of Sep like everyone after the phone verification. Reading comments has me scared that what if it lasts forever or for months? I don’t want to start all over again. I tried really hard and i had just recently started blogging. Very upsetting.
Me too! I was prompted to verify my phone number with IG (it was already though) and I was immediately shadowbanned.
Same exact thing happened to me! It’s making me so sad there’s nothing we can do.
I wish IG would at least respond to people or put out some kind of official notification. September 2, it all went to crap.
im shadowbanned since january 2017, my account went from 119k followers to 116k in the last 7 months.
Impressions 3.000.000 to 150.000, reach from 300.000 to 15.000.
I tried everything, no hashtag, no posting, etc.
switching to a business profile killed my engagement, even when I switched back to a personal account.
I’ve had the same issue. I don’t know what happened but I’m switching back to personal. Hopefully, eventually .. I’ll grow again
Thank you Alexandra , this article is a lifesaver , it’s helped me with very helpful tips to get over this shadow-ban nightmare . thanks .
how long dod it take that you engagement went back to how it was? what exact steps did you do? I’ve been trying every steps now and it’s not getting any better…my photos are still noch displayed under the hashtags I’m using. thanks!
I haven’t seen any mention of this but I wonder…. what if someone took a recent post and did a 15.00 or 20.00 promotion on it? Would that possibly lift the ban?
I think it just happened on my account. My engagement suddenly changed and it happened after I unfollowed stagnant accounts with no activity. Now, I’m suffering. I thought of switching back to a personal account but then thought … what if I ran a promo? Thoughts?
I was also thinking about paying for a promotion. In the end, I got a business account to promote my business and wanted to pay for it BUT, forcing us in the most horrible way (by censoring us) to pay for the promotion is not something I want. Dear Instagram, just let me pay when I want, there’s no need to rush anything. I downgraded now to a personal account, but I’m afraid that my account can be still labeled in their system as a business account.
I’ve been shadowbanned since the 2nd September (so just under a week) I’ve tried everything! Deleted all my old hashtags – reporting the problem mulitiple times a day, switching to a personal account, posting my hastags in the caption and switching them up, changed my password, logged out and back in! ???? Basically everything! I’m running out of options and becoming increasingly frustrated. Do you think it could be a bug seeming as it’s effected so many? (_zoemarch)
I’ve covered everything as well but still no change. I even reinstalled the app! Extremely frustrated. If it is a bug then what can we do? Is there anyway to contact Instagram other than the given options? Because they’re not the most responsive bunch. (@hashiabey)
The literally don’t reply on anything. But if you go to their twitter page and read the comments it seems to have effected so many people’s accounts – some even being deactivated. But yet again Instagram aren’t replying. I think it’s the result of some hacking that took place last week ????
I’m experiencing the same from the 2nd of September and have done everything, removed hashtags, logged out, changed my password, stopped engaging and posting, contacted Instagram multiple times, switched back to personal account, deleted and reinstalled the app, tried it on wifi and 4G.. nothing has worked. This my business, I was not worried for the first few days but I’m staying to really get worried now 🙁 I have never paid for likes, followers, used any bots, I have worked SO hard to engage organically, I’ve even paid Instagram for advertising in the past… I’m at a loss!
A few days ago, IG prompted me to reverify my phone number, I did, and was instantly shadowbanned. I never put hashtags in comments, none of the hashtags I use are blocked ones, I’m not a business…etc. I have no idea why this happened.
That was actually not part of instagram. It was done by a group of hackers
This happened to me too on the 2nd September like many other users reported here :O Can you tell us more about this, how do you know it was a group of hackers? What now, is my account in danger?
I am experiencing the same from the 2nd of September and have done everything, removed hashtags, logged out, changed my password, stopped engaging and posting, contacted Instagram multiple times, switched back to personal account, deleted and reinstalled the app, tried it on wifi and 4G.. nothing has worked. The same happened to me! But it was sent via Instagram. What should we do now? I’ve changed my password a couple of time after that. Is there anything else that we can do? (@hashiabey)
The prompt came through the IG app when I opened it. Please elaborate on how it was done by hackers because this is very confusing.
Same thing happened to me as well. Can you pls help how long it took to get this thing rectified. I am also shadow banned and it’s really hurting my account and engagement.
hey, has anyone tried actually paying for a promotion to lift the ban?
Yes i did it today and it worked for me!! ? After they approved my promotion!! I go test one of the hashtags and my post is showen in search of hashtags:))) but i payed money that insatgram set as recommended:)) so its worked for me.:)
Have just done all 7 actions… now I wait to see if it works :/
I find it a bit hard to believe that it’s switching to a business account, as I’ve had a business account since it was available and am only just now seeing this effect. Also IG has said personal accounts acting as a business could be flagged a while ago.
I’ve also just noticed that I’ve been shadow banned, I think it’s been since the start of July. I’ve been getting 50-60% less engagement on my posts, and had been wondering as to why. I’ve been lazy and have been using the same hashtags, posted as comments so I think that’s the reason!
I’ve deleted all comments with hashtags from my posts since then, but should I also remove the hashtags from my captions too? (I usually use location specific tags in captions, with my generic ones placed in a comment).
Also, once the ban is lifted can I then go back to re-act hashtags to the posts I removed them from?
Hi everyone, just wanted to say I got shadow banned at the start of this month like many others which I only realized it two days ago. Yesterday I deleted all the hash tags of the latest photos that I had put up that had been affected since the start of the month. I also sent 2 messages to instagram about it and I then changed my password on instagram and signed out of my account for about 15 hours. I also signed out of the followers pro app that I used to see who unfollowed me and everything is back to normal now. I don’t know which one of these methods worked. I hope others have the same results!!
I fixed my shadowban!!! after almost 3 months of religiously checking a shadowban tester just to find that i had been banned EVERY SINGLE TIME, I finally deleted all of the hashtags under EVERY SINGLE one of my posts (and there were a lot). It turns out that a few posts from a year ago had 31 hashtags (limit is 30). I did this and it was IMMEDIATELY lifted! Hope it helps!
What is Instagram rage shake? Can anyone explain this to me?
I just took my hashtags off of the comments and tested it again. IT WORKED!!!
Hello sir, can you tell us more about it!! We are facing this problem from past 3 days!! Do we need to remove all hash tag from comment in all the post?? In my profile!!
I think I’ve been shadowbaned. I hashtag every post with my handle as a cohesive way to see all my posts in one hashtag (I see now that this is a bad idea). Anyway, has anyone noticed posts not showing up even when you search from an account that IS following the account in question??
Stop posting is the best bet I literally quit ig for a month came back and used hashtags my engagement was better than ever!!
Here’s something new that is occurring with my large account (23k+ followers) I’m not allowed to make new hash tags! And if my current tags have less than about 50 tags it has been blocked. Like ANY tag I make is instantly deemed as violating community standards.
Waow! Thanks for sharing that. I had heard of other people talking about their own hashtags getting them blocked too. But you confirm that we have to be very careful with new hashtags. Good that you noticed it. Thanks for letting us know!
In my case I know I-ve been baaned because I have my own hashtag, but only posts that have been reposted from me appear with it, my own pictures do not show up when I type the hashtag. It’s so annoying.
Hello Alexandra , I have more than 25 pages on Instagram and i am managing some models profile on Instagram but from last three days.. i am getting less engagement even i am not able to convert my page business to personal.. could you please personally because its very big problem for my business. I have more than 25 pages with audience 20k to 1m fan club… i want to mention one more thing , These are not bot followers. I am working on this plate-from from last 5 years
iamjasspreetsingh 5+
I lifted shadowban with promotion to a post. After 3 weeks i was like ok lets try promote one of my posts. And yes after they approved my promotion it worked for me!!:)) i test it i make post with hashtag and yees it was shown in search of hashtags!!! But i think you must pay money that instagram recommended you. So for me it was promotion for 6 days:)) cya 🙂
youre saying that if you are shadowbanned and you promote a post everything comes back to normal? i thought of this because one of the reasons for instagram to shadowban you is because they want you to pay for more reach. it really makes sense to me.
if you ever find this reply please let me know if the ban god lifted after your promotion
Remove all the tags on your post, and just email insta(trust me actually email them) and report a problem and you’ll be un-shadow banned within an hour it really works and its really good :),i gained like 200 followers ten minutes after i was shadow-banned (just proves that instagram really shadow bans people bruh…)
How did you email instagram?
What email did you use? Because it seems they no longer have the “support” email and don’t respond to their FB messenger either…
what is their email?? [email protected] doesnt active anymore
I tried a few things..but what worked for me was removing all hashtags from my posts..I guess it was some hashtag that I was using that fell under that category..
Feel free to connect with me on Instagram @varsha.tyagi16 .I would love to help,if I can.
I changed my password, deleting most of the hashtags, and then i contacted ig and i logged out. I was shadowbanned for a week and now my main account isn’t shadowbanned anymore. I tried the same thing to my 2nd account since it’s also shadowbanned, but it didn’t work ?
WHY DO THEY DO THIS TO US?
If they’re trying to eliminate spam, which we all still get anyway, then they need to set up a RELIABLE support department to help those of us who are not spam. If we ask for help, give it to us within 24 hours.
TELL US WHY our posts or hashtags have been shadowbanned, and what to do to correct the problem.
Even better, tell us what the problem is in the first place, and give us a chance to correct it BEFORE being shadowbanned.
Even better, just automatically remove the one hashtag or post you don’t like, and leave the rest alone.
Even better, don’t have so many stupid fucking rules about what we can and cannot post. Yes, some things are inappropriate and should not be allowed. But most of us post good things with good intentions, that Instagram doesn’t happen to like.
Don’t let us sit there guessing and trying all kinds of tricks, hoping our account will come back to life.
Limit the bans 24 hours. Most people won’t make mistakes again, especially if you TELL US what the mistake was. The minority of people who continue to intentionally make those bad posts, ban them longer.
One of my accounts got banned forever, and I went through their “appeal” process and never even got a response. What kind of appeal is that? Send me a reply, tell me why you banned my account, tell me not to do it again and turn my fucking account back on. If I do it 7 times, then you can ban me because then I would obviously be a problem. Jesus.
They do everything under the sun to get us to use Instagram as our main social media, then make it impossible for us once we’re up and running.
What kind of business runs this way?
I would rather not use Instagram at all than have to use it under this dictatorship.
Assholes.
I started my Instagram account in April of 2018. By November of 2018, in just 8 months, my account reached 90k! My account has been private for the entire duration and I DID NOT use ANY hashtags. I don’t know how it was so popular, but hey. Anyway, I have been shadowbanned for some reason and I don’t even use hashtags. I don’t spam and I don’t disobey the guidelines (fine lines some times, but still valid). I went from getting 600+ followers in a day, to now (December 2018) getting 100 if I’m lucky. This happened over night! I temporarily disabled my Insta for 5 days and that didn’t really do anything. The reason I know I am shadowbanned is because I just posted a new photo and made my own hashtag and I don’t even show up on my own hashtag… My other accounts work, but my main account does not. This is so frustrating.
i got shadowbanned too, but i fixed it!
what happened: someone reported one of my posts for copyright issues and instagram deleted it and shadowbanned me immediately.
here’s how i fixed it!
first off, one of the biggest mistakes i did was to stop posting (like most of the people do and hope their shadow ban would get lifted). it doesn’t work that way. my account engagement went even more down when i stopped posting , so DON’T log out or disable your account cuz that DOESN’T work at all!
i removed my hashtags (which were same on each post) from like 15-20 posts.
to my surprise, after just 2 weeks after they shadowbanned me, my ban got lifted and i started showing up in the hashtags and my account’s engagement is better than ever!✌?
I tried following the Contact IG instructions above. Unfortunately the ‘Report a Problem’ option doesn’t seems to be there any longer
So I tried via FB and sent a message via ‘Send a message’ and received a reply in Arabic
I would expect no less from FB – guaranteed to disappoint
I then emailed [email protected] and received an immediate response telling me that email address is no longer supported
My problem is that my account is a business account already that I have been trying to switch it back to personal account but is doesn’t work because it was link to my Facebook account and I have lost that account too.my Instagram page has 695k and it a verified account and someone reported a video I posted Instagram deleted the video but I reposted it again and from there I was shadowbanned for 1week three days now I have use some of ur steps here but still I did deleted all my #tags and reported the problem for two days but still
Please help me out I need to promote my new song out there
Hello.
I might have been shadowbanned. I received the restrictions message. I think i got carried away with the likes.
So now ive followed all the steps to being unbanned. Somehow i wanted to clarify something.
I did a poll on my story. And random people that are not following me have responded. Does this mean i have not been shadowbanned? Can anyone clarify that?
Thanks in advance
